KosherCalm Privacy Policy

Kosher Calm ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Kosher Calm website (koshercalm.org) and the Kosher Calm app (app.koshercalm.org) (together, the "Service"), which provide guided meditation and practical tools for reducing stress. Kosher Calm is a project of TM Deception, a U.S. 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 83-1524518). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

The Short Version

We do not collect your personal information. Kosher Calm has no accounts, no sign-in, and no user database. We do not run analytics, we do not track you, and we do not have advertising of any kind. Everything in the app is free to everyone, and nothing is unlocked by payment.

Information We Collect

We do not collect account information. The Service does not offer or require an account. There is no username, no password, and no sign-in of any kind, so we never receive your name or email address through the app.

Information stored on your own device. Your preferences and progress — such as your language choice, timer settings, practice reminders, and which sessions you have completed — are saved locally in your device's own storage. This information stays on your device. It is not transmitted to us, we cannot read it, and clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app removes it.

We do not collect usage or analytics data. We do not use analytics software, advertising identifiers, cookies for tracking, or third-party trackers. We do not know who you are, when you use the app, or what you do in it.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, or any data from other apps on your device.

Donations

Kosher Calm is free. If you choose to make a charitable donation to TM Deception, the donation buttons open your device's browser and take you to a payment page hosted by Stripe, our payment processor. Payment details are entered on Stripe's page, not in the app. Your card number goes directly to Stripe and never reaches our servers, because we do not operate a server that could receive it.

To send you a receipt, Stripe collects the email address you enter on its page. Stripe processes that information under Stripe's privacy policy. We receive a record of the donation so that the charity can acknowledge it and meet its recordkeeping obligations.

Donating does not create an account and does not unlock anything. A person who never donates has exactly the same access as one who does.

Notifications

If you turn on practice reminders in the mobile app, those reminders are scheduled by your device and delivered by your device. They are not sent from our servers, and we do not know that you set one.

Sharing of Information

We have no personal information to share, sell, or disclose. We do not sell personal information to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising. Our site is hosted by Vercel, which processes standard server request logs as part of delivering the site, under its own privacy policy. Donation payments are handled by Stripe, as described above.

Data Retention and Deletion

Because we do not collect or store personal information, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Information saved on your device is removed when you clear your browser data or uninstall the app. If you have donated and want the charity's record of your donation removed, or have any other request, email us at the address below and we will respond within a reasonable time. Security

The Service is delivered over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Because we hold no accounts, no passwords, and no personal data, there is no user database that could be breached. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but the safest data is the data we never collect.

Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you have any concern about a child's use of the Service, please contact us.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information held about you, or to object to certain processing. Because we do not hold personal information about you, in most cases there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you believe we hold information about you, email us and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Service.
